Designed by Marc Lombard, a naval architect well-known for his fast prototypes of Mini Class, Open 40, Open 60, and numerous other varieties of sailboat, the Zero class is a Mini Transat 6.50 characterized by its balanced and powerful waterlines, both with downwind and crosswind, and also with upwind.

It is built in accordance with the Mini Class regulations relating to standard production boats and in accordance with EC approved quality regulations.

The Zero combines excellent performance with great stability and the legendary unsinkability of the Mini 6.50s, with a retractable keel that makes it convenient for road transport without the need for special permits.

Its interior is very versatile, being adaptable to both racing and cruising thanks to its built-in transverse bulkheads, which in addition to making it solid and dependable, endow it with a high degree of sturdiness.

A particularly outstanding detail of the Zero is its cleverly-constructed entrance hatch opening onto the interior of the boat, allowing for fast and easy access.

The Zero is not merely a vessel designed exclusively for single-handed racing, but is also an excellent ocean cruiser, being safe, elegant, sporty and well constructed. It needs hardly any crew, and can be ready for sailing in no time at all. These factors are the key to the success of the Mini 6.50 series in general, and of the Zero in particular.

Occasionally one may have doubts and think that a Mini Class boat makes for hard and demanding sailing, but it is precisely because it was designed with single-handed sailing in mind that it is so easy and flexible to steer. It is in fact extremely stable as a result of its large beam and the ratio between the weight of its keel and the total weight of the boat itself. Moreover, its course stability is remarkable and the fact that it is so pleasant to handle enables it to live up to the expectations of the most demanding sailor.

Racing it when its potential is tested to the limit nevertheless demands solid preparation, training and experience.
